GRACE OUTREACH CENTER

Plano, Texas

DLA provided Grace Outreach Center with a flexible, multiphase plan that enabled the church to effectively accommodate growth and meet exterior design requirements dictated by the adjacent residential neighborhood.  The first phase of the project included a 1,300-seat, two-story sanctuary and classroom building.  Included in the 43,125 sq. ft. project was a 150-seat chapel, children's church, 23 classrooms and church offices.

Subsequent phases included:

•     Adding a 14,330 sq. ft. education wing with 15 children's classrooms and additional restrooms

•     Adding an 11,300 sq. ft. wing with a middle school size gym, full-service kitchen, restroom/locker facilities and four adult classrooms

•     Finishing-out the sanctuary balcony

•     Developing the property across the street for a 21,717 sq. ft. chapel and office building with seating for 289 people, three adult classrooms, new church offices, which would be relocated from the phase one building, and additional parking.

In order to better minister to a large and growing youth department, Grace Outreach Center engaged DLA for a sixth-and-final phase to design a 6,900 sq. ft. youth center featuring a 368-seat auditorium with a large platform, a café, a multi-purpose room, a youth office, and a large mezzanine with a sound booth and games area. A portion of the existing building was also renovated to provide a large youth classroom and restroom facilities.
